Lizzy Borden Bio ‘10
In a career spanning 26 years, Lizzy Borden was
created in 1983 in Hollywood California. Spitting venom, stage blood and
dripping grease paint while breathing life into bizarre characters bred
precisely for the stage. Theme oriented creations such as, Love you to pieces
(1985) Menace to society (1986) Visual Lies (1987) Master of
Disguise (1989) Best Of (1994) Deal with the Devil (2000) and
Appointment with death (2008) forever cemented icon status to the master
showman from the dawn of heavy metal.
With the release of Lizzy
Borden’s latest disk “Appointment with death” Lizzy and the boys tore
through 2008 for that badge of honor all the while stealing the show at some of
Europe’s greatest summer festivals. The new Appointment with death show
received nothing less then rave reviews from Major European press like “The
best show of the entire festival”, “A 9 out of 10”, “Lizzy Borden was the hit of
the festival”
The end of summer ‘08 brought the show back home
rampaging right through North America, destroying every House of blues in
its path all the way through the states.
Showing no signs of letting up Lizzy Borden
finished ‘08 performing in 7 countries on a winter tour of Europe. While the
show stormed its way through Europe, the first video from “AWD” “Tomorrow
never comes”, was nominated for video of the year on MTV's “Headbangers
Ball”, a great way to finish the year.
2009 opened with the creation of a new Lizzy
Borden video "Under Your Skin". “Skin” premiered on MTV2
Saturday March 29th ‘09 with a controversial topic (about teenage girls cutting
themselves); the heavy duty subject was just the thing to start the year off on
an artistic note.
Most bands that have been
around as long as Lizzy Borden, the days of a new video on MTV are long gone,
however Lizzy Borden have 2 videos from the latest CD, "Tomorrow Never
Comes" and “Under Your Skin” in rotation on MTV’s Headbangers ball,
Music Choice as well as radio stations around the country.
April ‘09 brought Lizzy back to Germany
to headline the first night of the “Keep it True” festival. The show was
second to none showcasing a 26 year career catalog of songs as well as the twin
guitar assault of Dario Lorina and Chris Sanders, the 8 string
bass menace Marten Andersson and the frantic Mohawk drummer Joey Scott.
The show centers on Lizzy in his multitude of masks and props screaming
bloody murder as he’s pushed and pulled by (the Lizzy Girls Julia and steph) the
angel and devil on his shoulders. The show ends in blood, smoke and fire just
like a great rock show should.
The entourage was still hungry for more and made a
quick stop in Holland to perform the show one more time before returning home.
US festivals in 2009 included “Rocklahoma” and “Rock gone wild”..
The summer of ’10 is about to become the next
chapter in the Lizzy Borden saga with various festival appearances/tours
around the world. To be continued....
